Antique slip-glazed jardinière, central planter, 19th century, Onnaing. A superb antique slip-glazed jardinière, a planter from the late 19th century, made in Onnaing. It features impressive handles and a green-blue earthenware majolica grape decoration, as well as leaves, a bird, and bunches of grapes. French slip-glazed majolica jardinière, decorated with grapes. Polychrome oval shape, crimped rim, applied and modeled with grapes and leaves, with an unmarked bird on the underside. Late 19th century, large elongated oval shape with a molded rim, scrolled handles, grapes, and a bird applied on a speckled brown enamel background, blue interior. Dimensions: Length with handles: 38.9 cm. Length without handles: 27.8 cm. Height with handles: 19.5 cm. Height without handles: 16 cm. Width: 17 cm. Base: 24.8 cm X 11 cm. Weight: 1, 786 grams. Produced by the Onnaing factory in northern France, specializing in utilitarian objects, founded in 1821 and taken over in 1850 by the Mouzin family, who ceased operations in 1947 with their 500 employees. Condition: Very good condition, no chips, cracks, or damage to the rim or handles. Polychrome glazed earthenware with floral motifs, grapes, and a bird. Condition: This item is in good condition, showing normal signs of wear and use, including dents, scratches, and imperfections. Crackles, as expected over time.
