Dimensions: L with extension 197 H 74 P 100. Stamp of Maurice Alet, circa 1925–1935. Beautiful extendable table (extension missing) signed by the Toulouse workshop of Maurice Alet (1874–1967), one of the master cabinetmakers of French regional Art Deco. It is distinguished by its cross-shaped base with a fluted central post, typical of Alet's production from 1925–1935, and by its still functional sliding opening mechanism. The stamp — the intertwined initials MA within a circle, in marquetry — is clearly legible and authenticates the piece as a post-1925 workshop production. Condition of honest use: Natural crack on the top (repairable by a cabinetmaker) Missing extension (can be replicated identically) Intact and functional opening mechanism. Warm patina, beautiful presence.
