Distinctive folding serving trolley produced in Germany during the 1960s, combining a lightweight chrome-plated tubular metal structure with two wood-effect molded plastic serving trays. The trolley is an excellent example of the ingenious space-saving furniture developed during the postwar modernist period. Its articulated frame allows the entire structure to fold to approximately 7 cm / 2.8 inches in depth, making it remarkably compact for storage. When opened, the cart provides two generously proportioned serving levels supported by an elegant chrome frame with sweeping curved side rails. Original caster wheels allow the trolley to be moved easily, while the raised edges of the trays help keep glasses, bottles and serving pieces securely positioned. The combination of chrome and dark wood-effect surfaces creates a characteristic 1960s aesthetic suitable for both Mid-Century Modern and Space Age interiors. An original German label remains attached to the piece and states that its form and design were protected through national and international registrations. Ideal as a cocktail cart, drinks trolley, serving cart, tea trolley or mobile occasional table. The trolley remains fully functional, including its folding mechanism and wheels.
