Polychrome faience "Assumption of Mary" by Eugenio Pattarino

Glazed terracotta sculpture representing the Virgin Mary by the Italian artist Eugenio Pattarino (1885-1971), renowned for his religious works in earthenware and terracotta, often detailed in polychromy and gilding. Signed on the inside of the base (see photo), this statuette measures approximately 41 cm in height and features cherubic heads around its feet. One thumb and one toe are missing - see photos. Wear consistent with age and use. Materials: earthenware, gold leaf, terracotta, handmade, hand-painted. Origin: Italy.
