Authentic butcher's block on legs - End grain wood

Old butcher's block on a wooden base, made of solid end-grain pieces assembled together. It still bears an old numbering, a remnant of its professional use. Time and usage have marked the surface with an authentic patina, characteristic of this type of workpiece. The top, currently 19 cm thick, has been sanded in the past, a normal procedure in the life of a butcher's block to remove the upper layer that has been overly marked by use (original thickness probably 20 cm). The surface today retains some marks but no significant cracks, and it is in a good state of cleanliness. Most importantly, it is perfectly in its original condition and has not undergone any restoration or stabilisation. The block rests on a stable and robust solid wood base. It is a work object that has become a fully-fledged piece of furniture, particularly suitable for contemporary use as a supplementary island, high console, or characterful piece. One can easily imagine it in a characterful kitchen, a chic country interior, wabi-sabi, or in contemporary contrast. Top: 40 × 40 cm. Thickness of the top: 19 cm. Total height: 89 cm. Weight: 40 kg. Condition: Old wood. Top previously sanded (normal use on a butcher's block). Visible and accepted signs of use throughout. Natural cracks without impact on stability. Structure is sound and stable.
