Sculpture Hunting Dog for Duck - Art Deco - J. MIGNOT - Saint-Clément

Magnificent animal sculpture from the Art Deco period (circa 1930) in glazed earthenware. It depicts a hunting dog retrieving waterfowl (duck/mallard) on a naturalistic base. The piece stands out for its superb nuanced turquoise green colour, typical of productions from this era, with a beautiful sheen to the glaze. Artist: Signed J. MIGNOT in relief on the terrace. Manufacture: Marked underneath the base or on the side with the St Clément stamp (marks "8656" and the manufacturer's initials visible). Style: Pure Art Deco, with stylised and dynamic lines. A few small chips but no breaks.
