Pair of Scandinavian "Fanett" chairs, designed by Ilmari Tapiovaara for Edsbyverken, made in Sweden. Ilmari Tapiovaara, Finnish interior architect and designer (1914/1999), worked with Alvar Aalto and Le Corbusier. He later ventured into creating furniture for schools, universities, and the military. He is among the key figures in promoting Scandinavian design in the 20th century. His goal when designing the Fanett chair was to create an ideal chair that is comfortable and accessible to all. A quintessential vintage model of the versatile wooden chair, it is simple, feminine, discreet, and understated. The chairs are stable and in good condition, with some signs of wear, mainly on the inner legs where the black paint has worn off. Very stable. Seat height: 43 cm.
