HBCM sugar bowl model Paradis in ironstone with blue basket decoration.

Antique sugar bowl in ironstone, stamped Paradis – H.B.C.M – France, accompanied by its original lid. The shape is balanced and generous, highlighted by two side handles and a domed lid with a central knob, typical of the refined tableware from the interwar period. The blue printed decoration on an ivory background features a stylised floral basket, complemented by a discreet frieze running along the lid. The whole stands out against a cream-coloured body with a slightly grainy appearance, characteristic of late ironstone, which is more utilitarian and robust than the very smooth 19th-century productions. Stamped HBCM (Hippolyte Boulanger Creil et Montereau). Circa 1920–1955, based on the stamp and the characteristics of the body and glaze. In good vintage condition, with a chip on the inner rim of the body, patina, and signs of use under the base (see photos). Width from handle to handle 17 cm, depth 7.5 cm, height with lid 10.5 cm. An authentic piece of table art, ideal for a contemporary country table.
