Slope. Size: 63 X 73 cm (including frame) Oil on board. A very pleasant and soothing modernist style landscape painting, executed in oil onto board and dated 1950. In this scenic and atmospheric sloping landscape composition that is filled with fields, trees and housing facades, 2 small figures are strolling on a pathway in the middle of the painting. Executed in an expressive manner and with rich colours comprising shades of green, blue, cream and orange, a combination of sweeping brushstrokes and rhythmic multi-directional strokes fill the canvas, wonderfully capturing the panoramic expanse of this landscape. This oil on board is housed in a beautiful gilt frame. Both painting and frame are in excellent vintage condition.
