This well-proportioned and elegant wall mirror was designed by Czech-born designer Ernest Igl, based in Munich, and manufactured by the German lighting company Hillebrand in the early 1960s. The design strongly resembles the works of French designer Mathieu Mategot, and the off-white perforated wings on the sides beautifully illuminate when switched on, creating an elegant effect and projecting patterns onto the surroundings. The mirror glass is held in place by two brass supports, giving the mirror a floating appearance. A cord switch located at the bottom allows for the lights to be turned on and off. The mirror is wired for two fluorescent tubes and still has its original internal fixture, including the Plathner transformer (without the VDE marking, indicating it dates from the 1960s). Aside from a few scratches at the bottom of the glass and a brass addition at the back where the original wall mount seems to have been removed, this mirror is in very good condition and will add a touch of Mid-Century Modern elegance to its new home! Dimensions: Height: 80 cm Width: 45 cm Depth: 8 cm. Mirror glass: 79 cm x 34 cm. Carefully packed for secure shipping.
