This piece of furniture is a two-part dresser in the Louis XV style (or more precisely "Burgundian style" / "rustic chic style"). It is in perfect condition. Made at least in the 19th century as it was a gift given in 1904. It is probably made of walnut or cherry wood with a very nice warm patina, well-defined grain, and an authentic "family furniture" appearance. The finish appears to be meticulous. The floral motifs (vine or laurel leaves), the fruit basket in the central medallion, and the scrolls are typical of the provincial Louis XV style. It is well executed without being overly ornate. It has a beautiful presence, with an elegant curve at the top and bottom (curved feet). It fits perfectly into a rustic/chalet interior or a French country house.
