Sognot was influenced by art deco and cubist aesthetics, giving his work a unique stylistic flair while also being usable. Born on may 25, 1892 in paris, france, sognot studied at the école bernard-pablissy before working as a designer at the au printemps department store in paris in 1919. The designer went on to become a founding member of the union des artistes decoroteurs. He died in 1970 in paris, france.
