Magnificent set of 4 teak Ant chairs designed by Arne Jacobsen for Fritz Hansen in 1952. The basic objective of creating this chair was to furnish the cafeteria of the Danish pharmaceutical company Novo Nordisk in Copenhagen. A lightweight, stackable and ergonomic chair was intended to integrate a modern and functional space. Arne Jacobsen was inspired by organic forms found in nature, notably that of an ant, to create the curved and fluid lines characteristic of the Ant chair. This series has the particularity of being tripod and therefore a little rarer than the quadripods. You can see from the metal structure on which is engraved "Fritz Hansen" that this is one of the first editions. As you can see in the photos. This chair has many signs of wear. It is of course a chair from the 1950s so it has lived well. It is in perfect used condition but has significant signs of use. So it is in great vintage condition.
