Early 20th century walnut rock bed

Imposing bed called "rocaille", louis XV style in solid walnut and veneer, very fashionable at the beginning of the 20th century. It presents all the canons of the genre, with its abundant decoration, finely carved with shells, crescents and other leafy and floral scrolls, including its leafy feet ending in a snail. This bed is of very good quality and in excellent condition considering its age, there are only two lacks of veneer (see last photo) which are not visible because located under the level of the bed base and the mattress. Its period dimensions (for a bed base and mattress of 130 X 190 cm) predispose it to serve as a large bed for a single person or for two slender people. This type of bed is ideally suited to a makeover, in "shabby chic" white, but also anthracite gray etc. (many examples are available on the internet).
