Magnificent cicim from Karapinar in Central Anatolia. Cicim, pronounced "djidjim," are woven and fully embroidered pieces. Most old pieces like this one covered the walls of nomads' tents. Wool on wool. Vegetable dyes. The embroidery work is remarkable in finesse and precision.
