Superb candelabra & candlestick signed marius giuge – vallauris, 1960s dimensions of the candelabras: height: 34.5 cm — width: 20.5 cm this pair of three-light candelabras and this two-light candlestick from the 1960s are in excellent condition and signed under each piece: stamp “marius giuge - vallauris”. Particularly imposing, the candlesticks are formed by scrolls at the top and base of the shaft. “water foam” decoration, created by adding chemical components to the enamel to obtain variations in size and depth of the craters. The white color of these models is dotted with black alveoli that contrast with the clear enamel. This style of decoration influenced german fat lava ceramics of the 1960s-1970s. The 3 pieces can be separated. Biography: marius giuge, (1909-1980). He discovered the trade through his father philippe and set up his own business in 1947/48. An excellent potter, his workshops were prosperous. In 1975, he left his business to his daughter, also a ceramist, who ran it for 5 years.
