Yellow lacquered wood wall-mounted coat rack, anonymous work probably directed by Le Corbusier, circa 1952. It consists of six wooden pegs, carved into solid hooks and fixed to a rectangular board of yellow lacquered wood. Sober and functional, this model is typical of the developments designed for the Cité Radieuse in Marseille in the early 1950s. With its simple, robust, and colorful treatment, it illustrates the modernist desire to integrate practical and standardized elements into daily life, in keeping with the architectural project of the Unité d'Habitation. Provenance: Cité Radieuse, Marseille, circa 1952.
