Pressed-mould glass cup – Stars & palmettes – 1960s-70s

Pressed-moulded glass table bowl, featuring a quadrilobed silhouette with scalloped and finely serrated edges, indicative of meticulous craftsmanship typical of European glassware from the 1960s-70s — either Czechoslovak or Polish production, at the height of their art for this type of bourgeois table piece. The interior decoration, of remarkable density, is organised around a central radiating octagonal medallion: multi-branched stars, rosettes, and fan motifs unfold in spirals across the entire background. The outer sides repeat this ornamental vocabulary in overlapping registers, playing with light to create striking depth effects.
