Beautiful terracotta vase with hand-painted rose decorations on a speckled black background. It is signed "JC" and labelled "J. Chalmandier - 7 cours Gambetta - Tarbes" on the reverse. It is also handwritten "Hollandecor". This vase, with its Japonese lines, comes from a small Tarbes shop specialising in home decor, which in the 1950s-1960s had a small workshop for decorating pottery likely imported in bulk from workshops in Vallauris or Spain. The pottery arrived blank, while the designs were created by decorative artisans from the shop (here, the owner) with patterns inspired by styles popular at the time, such as flowers in Holland ("Hollandecor" giving the name to the pattern). This small vase is thus a memory of an era, a blend of mass production and local craftsmanship. In overall good condition, it has some chips in the paint, without aesthetic damage. Dimensions: 22 X 10 X 22 cm. Careful packaging. I respond to all your questions regarding the items and their delivery. Feel free to explore my Selency shop.
