Unsigned oil on panel. The artist who painted this painting can be compared to Provençal painters such as Jules Brunetaut, Adolphe Gaussen, Michel Vilaltat, and Edouard Crémieux. Probably painted in the first half of the 20th century, it depicts the tide gauge on the cornice in Marseille. The tide gauge was built in 1883-84 to determine the origin of altitudes in continental France (altitude 0). 40.5 X 32.5 cm without frame. 44.5 X 36.5 cm with frame. This painting was cleaned in our workshop and fitted with a custom frame.
