Jielde XL industrial wall lamp, 1960s

This 114 cm tall industrial wall lamp is a design by the French lighting brand Jielde. This sturdy, metal lamp truly illuminates every corner thanks to its five-point pivot. The on/off switch is located on the 20 cm diameter shade (including the ring). The lamp currently stands on a wooden base, as it was used as a table lamp. It is in working order with an E27 socket. The lamp has developed a patina over the years, which only adds to its character! The Jielde lamp originated in France. Around 1951, Jean-Louis Domecq, a French engineer, conceived a work lamp to meet his needs. Frustrated by the availability of work lamps that didn’t stand the test of time, he designed his own.
