Snowscape and mountain signed FRAASS

Oil on panel signed FRAASS. Snowscape, mountain village (Comtoise church), dated 1949. Good condition, framed - 45 x 58 cm; 35 x 47 cm. It could well be a work by Gustave FRAASS (born in 1920 in Mulhouse) in his first period (first exhibition in 1949 in a Mulhousian gallery), and which did not gain fame until the end of the 60s especially for his marines (many Paris salons, in regions, in Belgium and many awards). Mr. Lotz mentions snow landscapes in his production and for the style of some of his works a "continuous struggle between figuration and abstraction" that corresponds well to the spirit of this landscape.
