Mid-19th century carved walnut chair

Napoleon III period chair in solid walnut, featuring carved work throughout its structure. The backrest is decorated with a network of openwork interlacing surrounding a finely detailed central floral rosette. The crosspieces are carved with geometric motifs in relief. The front legs are decorated with lions' heads carved in high relief, with strong expressions, framing the seat. The whole rests on turned and fluted legs, typical of the style. The seat is made of a walnut frame with traditional hand-made caning. Seat height: 44 cm.
