Set of 6 “Monk” chairs designed by Tobia Scarpa for Molteni in the 1970s. Purchased new in 1973 and kept by a single owner on the shores of Lake Como, they present a beautiful unity and an authentic patina. Combining a solid wood structure and a stretched black leather seat/backrest, they combine robustness, sobriety and comfort. In their original condition but in very good condition, they testify to the quality of Italian design of the period. Each chair measures 75 × 52 × 45 cm. An iconic model, between refined brutalism and Italian modernism.
