Vintage Art Deco Mid Century 1940s Heals Style Oak Utility Company Furniture Chest Of Drawers

Vintage mid century chest of drawers in the style heal & sons post war utility design. Gorgeous golden oak chest of four drawers from the utility furniture movement. A modest piece of oak furniture having “the two cheeses” logo on the inside of the chest. Two capital letters c's and the figure 41, for "controlled commodity 1941" (which soon became known as "the two cheeses". All the drawer fronts are dove-tailed. Simple but stylish and well made, they offer a good deal of storage with a smaller top drawer and three further drawers beneath. The chest has been restored but still will show minor wear commensurate with age. All drawers run smoothly. Dimensions w76 X d46 X h74cm. Features: Light blonde oak. Skirted base. Four full drawers. Shaped solid oak bar handles. Dovetailed joints. Nice colour & grain. Great shape & size.
