Original African "jimma" stool, hand carved, Ethiopia, mid-20th century. Carved and hammered from a single piece of wood. Beautiful patina. With three curved legs supporting a convex bowl-shaped seat. The Jimma are one of the largest ethnic groups in Ethiopia and live primarily in the western highlands and southern parts of the country. They are mainly farmers. Diameter 37 cm. Height 37 cm. Very beautiful decorative object.
