Trio of braided chestnut chairs

These three chestnut chairs are in perfect condition, how even they certainly testify to a long history that probably dates back to the 50s and 60s. Indeed, the manufacture is old; the materials and technique used refer to a perigord or limousin craftsmanship, which has almost disappeared in favor of certainly more ephemeral works. To admire these three pieces, one can only regret it and all the more to taste the excellence of this work that crosses time. On frame in curved chestnut branches, the high backrests are "full" of a plant fabric consisting of wide strips of the same chestnut wood in leaves thus braided and fixed to the structure. The artist-craftsman even pushed the aesthetics to the point of playing on the tones of the tapes to add nuances of the most beautiful effect to these rather high files. It is the same for a round seat, the edges of which are reinforced. It is undoubtedly this concern for reinforcements, on all angles that gives us an incredible state of conservation, reinforcements that bring comfort to the seat as well as to the support of the back: it is a real added value. Their silhouette, a little shell-shaped, is also original. Finding 3 beautiful vintage "straps" in such a state is an opportunity to seize. In a veranda, on a terrace, or even in a seating area, or even a summer kitchen, this triplet will decline all its charms for precious convivial moments.
