Khokhloma vase, Russian lacquered wood craftsmanship, hand-painted decoration.

Here is a lovely little vase or pencil holder made of lacquered wood, decorated with hand-painted beautiful colours of gold, black, red, green, and orange, featuring floral patterns and red berries. The traditional motifs of this Russian craftsmanship, Khokhloma, were highlighted by tourism in the 1960s and have since been exported and highly appreciated worldwide. Its lines are simple and elegant with a slightly tapered shape, and it has a remnant of a printed label under the base, which would be from the company "Khokhlomskaya rospis" in Semenov, but it is so incomplete that it is difficult to extract more information; this vase may date from the 1970s to the 1990s. Inside, it is finished in gold lacquer. It is in very good condition, with no cracks, chips, or even abrasions; the decoration is intact. This vase measures 10 cm in height, approximately 7.5 cm in the largest diameter, and 5.5 cm in diameter at the opening.
