Cast iron door knocker from the 19th century or earlier.

Door knocker made of cast iron. It is authentic and dates from the 19th century or earlier, already or soon to be bicentennial (except for the wooden part which is recent). It will stylishly equip the door of your old home or holiday house, if you do not want to disfigure it with an electric bell. It can be installed as is or without the wooden part, as there is a metal section inside the wooden part. It features a ringed hand holding a sphere. It is in very good condition, folding and unfolding without play or resistance. It only shows signs of its age. There are still traces of old red paint on the underside of the hand. Its weight is 294 grams. It measures approximately 12 cm, or about 8.5 cm without the wooden part and therefore the metal section inside it. The wooden part has a cross-section of 3 X 2.5 cm with a length of approximately 3.7 cm. It is therefore a not too large knocker that can adapt to a less massive door.
