Oil on canvas, signed pierre fillette, dated 1962. A bouquet of tulips stitched with 3 irises. The black background is certainly a nod to the flemish still lifes of the seventeenth century. At that time, the golden age of flemish painting, tulip bulbs were traded at gold prices. These flowers were therefore a subject of choice for painters.
