Magnificent Louis-Philippe period chest of drawers (circa 1850), in burr walnut, opening with 4 drawers including an ogee drawer hidden in the apron. The wood has a spectacular, perfectly symmetrical grain, which testifies to refined cabinetmaking. Top in pink marble veined with white, molded all around in an elegant curve called "pair of buttocks". Original lock entries (fil model), later key. The drawers are mounted with dovetail, solid and traditional assembly. Turned legs, solid wood structure, tenon and mortise uprights. Chest of drawers found in a residence in the Loire Valley. Original patina, no restoration work, interior cleaned. A piece full of character, stable and authentic, ideal for a bedroom or a living room with a classic chic spirit.
