Superb large handmade Spanish earthenware wall platter adorned with a floral and geometric design typical of Talavera earthenware, a region emblematic of Spanish ceramic expertise. The deep blue arabesques and ochre and green flat tints are part of the great Mudejar tradition, born in southern Spain in the 15th century. This style, a blend of Hispanic art and Eastern influences, then spread to Talavera de la Reina (Castile) and then, in the 16th century, to Talavera de Puebla in Mexico. This platter perfectly illustrates this heritage: lightly cream-colored glaze, light-colored paste, and regular perforations on the back for wall hanging—all characteristics specific to Spanish artisanal earthenware from the 1970s to the 1990s, likely from the workshops of Talavera de la Reina or Granada. Intaglio stamp "Painted by hand" - Spain. Diameter 40 cm. Beautiful vintage condition, slight enamel irregularities due to handcrafting, some minor chips on the back, without any impact (see photos). A sublime decorative piece to hang or place as a centerpiece, bringing a chic Mediterranean touch to a contemporary interior. A vibrant and luminous earthenware piece with character.
