Oil Flower Painting - Oval Frame with Bow in Louis XVI Style - 1950

Magnificent oil painting on panel from the 1950s, depicting a floral still life in vibrant colours. The relief technique (impasto) adds a beautiful texture to the flowers. The oval frame is a handcrafted piece in wood and gilded stucco, adorned with a ribbon bow emblematic of the Louis XVI style. The whole piece shows an authentic patina that reflects its history. Condition: Beautiful vintage condition. Please note a small old chip on the stucco at the level of the upper bow (see photos), which confirms its authentic plaster construction. The back in particle board shows typical signs of natural oxidation from the period.
