Folding wooden stool

This charming wooden stool is really original with its slightly curved seat and its mechanism to fold it to store it. Indeed, it is necessary to turn a small wooden wedge to detach one side of the seat and then to be able to fold it. It probably dates from the beginning of the 20th century, and does not hide it: it has various marks and stains and a lot of beetle holes, mainly on the feet and low crosspieces, these holes seem old and not active, but I still preferred to do a treatment by injection of white vinegar into the holes (this is my natural method to replace the chemical insecticide). In addition, one of the sleepers was broken because weakened by these holes, I managed to repair it by gluing the two parts perfectly. I opted for the repair of the sleepers rather than the replacement to preserve as much as possible the original elements. The repair is not visible and seems to me to be solid (i sat on it and it holds), but obviously I can not guarantee that it will last for years. But nothing prevents it from being used and repaired by replacing the crossbeam if it were to give way again. Or to play it safe by using it as a plant door, as a small entrance cabinet to deposit his belongings, at the end of the sofa to put some magazines. It is 44 cm high, 37 cm wide and 29 cm deep. It weighs just over 1.5 kg.
