Ploum sofa by the Bouroullec brothers

Ploum sofas are the result of research into comfort. This is based on a special combination of two materials: the joint use of a stretch covering and a super-soft foam. The combination of these two materials, combined with the real generosity of the dimensions of Ploum sofas, offers extreme comfort and offers different postures for the body. According to the designers' wishes, the large sofa has an asymmetrical construction: right backrest a little higher than the left, right seat a little deeper than the left, zipper on the back of the backrest off-center. This large sofa, which can accommodate up to 4 people, has a slightly closed angulation of the seat which allows for close postures encouraging exchanges between the occupants of the seat. The extreme flexibility of the contact combined with a free form make Ploum a real nest: in fact, all positions are possible, the back and head finding the same soft contact in any part of the seat, including the armrests. STRUCTURE Steel tube, wire and grid. Sheathed base. COMFORT Integrated seat in high resilience polyurethane foam Bultex 48 kg/m3 - 3.6 kPa and integrated backrest in Bultex 26 kg/m3 - 1.4 kPa with contact layer in hyper-soft polyurethane foam 30 kg/m3 - 1.8 kPa. Comfort enhanced by the nature of the fabric used: double-layer quilted knit, stitched. STITCHING / COVER Cover made with a generously quilted knit covering and tufted with pull stitches. The sofa is dusty and requires professional cleaning. However, there are no stains or wear. It was purchased in 2022.
