Congo chair by Theo Ruth for Artifort, Netherlands 1950

A beautiful “congo” chair designed by theo ruth, manufactured by artifort in the netherlands around 1950. This iconic chair is upholstered in beautiful deep red fabric which gives the piece a lovely warm appearance. The seat and backrests are divided in two interlocking pieces, making it possible to change the seating position for maximum comfort. The feet are made of lacquered beech wood, perfectly matching the piece. A real eye-catcher in any interior and a must-have for any dutch design enthusiast! The chair remains in very good condition with minor wear consistent with age and use, preserving a beautiful patina.
