Set of four "Spider" candlesticks in cast iron, designed by Jens H. Quistgaard for Dansk Designs, Denmark, 1960s. Three candlesticks come with their original Dansk Designs box, a rare detail that enhances their collectability. Icons of mid-century Scandinavian design, these candlesticks are distinguished by their organic and sculptural shape with multiple branches, reminiscent of a spider or a marine creature. Made of blackened cast iron, they can hold slender candles and also read as true sculptural objects, even when unlit. The design combines modernist rigor with organic inspiration, a hallmark of Jens Quistgaard's work. Each piece is marked on the underside. The set is in very good condition, apparently never used. The boxes show slight age-related marks, with no aesthetic impact. As emblematic pieces of Danish design from the 1960s, these candlesticks naturally fit into a mid-century, Scandinavian, or contemporary interior, whether arranged in a composition or used individually. Dimensions (per candlestick): Diameter: 10.8 cm Height: 3.5 cm Material: cast iron Origin: Denmark Period: 1960s Sale: set of 4 candlesticks + 3 original boxes.
