This chest of drawers, from Parisian craftsmanship, features a belt drawer that simulates three fronts in mahogany veneer, each highlighted by a double inlaid brass fillet. This drawer is equipped with bronze handles adorned with drooping garlands, as well as an authentic lock accompanied by its entry and key. Below, this chest also opens with two drawers with a hidden crossbar, featuring a central lock with simultaneous locking and crown-shaped handles, also in bronze. The interiors of their fronts, in mahogany veneer with a mahogany frame, are embellished with an oval encircled by a quarter round in brass and rectangles with concave edges, showcasing perfect and uninterrupted symmetry of the inlays. The protruding and chamfered uprights are also inlaid with fillets and adorned with motifs and half bronze collars. They end with feet covered with inlays and brass sabot. The sides, crafted in the same spirit, each feature a small and a large panel in mahogany veneer with a mahogany frame. The top is crowned with a Belgian granite marble, featuring a groove. The structure of the piece and the interiors of the drawers are made of oak. This rare chest of drawers represents a fine example of craftsmanship from the Louis XVI period, combining utility and refined aesthetics. It would be an elegant addition to any classic interior. ******** Period: 2nd Half of the 18th Century. Excellent condition. Satin varnish finish. Delivery in France and internationally.
