Wooden and faux leather shoe shine chest stool

This magnificent trunk stool has a lot of charm with its pretty lines, its softened edges, its beautiful light colors, and a certain comfort for a stool; all these elements evoke the scandinavian style. It probably dates from the 50s or 60s and certainly already has several lives! Originally, it was a shoeshine stool, it allowed the shoeshine boy or the customer to sit and the shoeshine boy to store his brushes and polishes. The seat is covered with caramel skai, the structure is in varnished light solid wood. It is in good structural condition, solid, skai still flexible, but does not hide some signs that testify to its age and its successive uses: some various marks on the wood, and on the skai, a small round lack on the external layer of the skai (non-perforating therefore) and two small notches (non-perforating) as well as slightly darker areas around the edge, the patina of time and use. It measures 52 cm in height (at the level of the wooden structure), the seat is a square of 34 cm on each side.
