Modernist coffee or side table by Lane Furniture, USA circa 1950.

Very beautiful, very original and above all, a rare coffee table or side table, possibly an end table, from around 1950. This model is quite emblematic of the American minimalist movement published by Lane Furniture (Altavista, Virginia, USA) during the 1950s and early 1960s, and was only distributed across the Atlantic. This furniture was particularly popular for furnishing the luxurious villas of the famous celebrity resort of Palm Springs in California. It has a solid oak and American walnut structure, with golden aluminium feet, and bears the manufacturer's stamp as well as the model and series number under the tops (see photo). In superb condition, the large top measures 74x51 cm at a height of 41 cm, while the small one measures 31x51 cm at a height of 62 cm. Very high quality and completely in line with the decor spirit of our time, this table will bring a truly exclusive touch to your interior.
