Up for sale is a unique piece of furniture, extremely rare on the antiques market, an English corner washbasin (so-called corner washstand) from the first half of the 19th century, representing the Regency or early Victorian period. Nowadays, the piece of furniture is perfect as an original decorative element in a stylish living room, office, bedroom or hall, serving, for example, as a unique flower stand, console or exclusive display stand. The furniture is made of noble mahogany wood with a deep, warm color and beautiful grain. The structure is characterized by a two-level structure with a high, rounded corner extension, which in the past protected the wall against water splashes. A huge advantage is the hidden worktop, because the upper, fitted corner segment is completely removable. After lifting it, the original top with three holes is revealed: a large central one intended for a washing bowl and two smaller ones on the sides, formerly used for cups, soap dishes or bottles. The furniture is in very good original condition and has natural, small traces of time and patina. There are some age-old scratches visible, located mainly on the outside of the back wall, which only add to the authenticity and historical character of the item. The wood is completely healthy, the entire structure remains stable and the drawer moves smoothly. The washbasin has not undergone any modern, invasive renovations, so its original finish has been preserved. It is an ideal choice for collectors of period design, lovers of English style and people looking for a piece of furniture with soul, which, due to its corner form, does not take up much space and completely changes the character of the interior. Dimensions: Height: 116.5 cm. Depth: 44 cm X 44 cm.
