Superb model of 19th century solid silver fish serving cutlery. Composed of a shovel and an openwork fork, the set is decorated with a rich chiseled decoration on the handle as well as on the shovel and the fork. Both cutlery pieces bear the hallmark of the head of mercury on the left in a diamond (950°/°° silver). Knife length: 31 cm; max knife width: 4.3 cm; max knife thickness: 2 cm. Fork length: 26.6 cm, max fork width: 5.7 cm; max fork thickness: 2 cm. Total weight of the 2 cutlery pieces: 303 grams and 708 grams with case in its original condition. Cutlery in a case marked "bijouterie horlogerie rené caen".
