Blue enamelled vase of jacques and dani ruelland. The vase is enamelled purple inside. Ruelland bleu incised signature under the base. The vase dates back to the 1960s. Very nice condition. Height 16 cm. Diameter 12.5cm diameter at the base 8.5 cm diameter of the collar 7 cm. As a student in the late 1940s in the painting section of the national higher school of fine arts in paris, jacques ruelland turned in 1951 to the work of the land. With his partner, danielle, he was introduced to ceramics at the atelier des beaux-arts in paris. Jacques ruelland likes to work with oxides and is inspired by painting. In 1970, the couple left paris to settle in the south of france where they occupied two workshops in mont-ventoux and les angles. Jacques and danielle ruelland refused to compartmentalized their research, continuing to experiment with forms, techniques and materials. Jacques and dani ruelland have marked the history of ceramics. Their technique will constantly evolve over time, offering multiple shapes and objects, up to their vases sculptures and the creation of "families of objects" such as their sets of bottles or assorted pieces, apple or fig vases, boxes or ovoids. So many works have become cults, testimony to their immense work of enamel on their material.
