Scandinavian Modern solid pine table lamp, 1970s — a sculptural stacked base in solid pine. New E27 socket and lampshade. Four solid pine cylinders, graduating in diameter from base to top, are stacked along a central pine shaft — each with a diagonal cut across its upper face, angled consistently so that the column reads as a single continuous upward rotation. The effect is dynamic and architecturally considered: the base appears to unwind as it rises, giving the lamp a strong sense of movement and presence. The construction is entirely solid wood, with the quality of the turning and fitting immediately apparent. The grain is warm and pronounced throughout, a rich honey-amber pine with clearly visible figure. This kind of solid pine sculptural work was characteristic of Scandinavian woodworking ateliers in the 1970s, when the region's craft workshops were at their most inventive with natural materials and organic form.
