Ceramic cache-pot from the Milet workshop in Sèvres, a family-run ceramics studio active since the 19th century. Under the leadership of Paul Milet, the workshop produced pieces with highly sought-after graphic decoration in the 1950s. Its conical shape is simple and elegant. It is covered with a grey slip applied with a brush in wide horizontal bands. These bands create a vibrant texture effect, reminiscent of wash and weaving. On one side, a kneeling woman is painted freehand in black silhouette. She wears a headdress and has her arms open, in a style that is both stylised and full of movement, typical of post-war French graphic design. On the other side, a diamond-shaped openwork and fringed motif evokes Berber patterns. Small branches connect the two decorations. The interior is cream-glazed. Under the base is the hand-painted signature "Milet Sèvres décor main". This piece is ideal for an indoor plant or as a decorative object in a mid-century interior. Dimensions. Height: 17 cm.
