We are proud to present an iconic piece of Eastern European Mid-Century Modern design: a stunning walnut vanity dressing table designed by the acclaimed Polish designer Marian Grabinski. Produced in 1962 by the Krakow Furniture Factories (as part of the highly sought-after type 1038 furniture set), this specific piece retains its original paper manufacturing label on the back, confirming its authenticity and exact year of production. Design and Form. The vanity features a highly elegant, lightweight silhouette. Its focal point is a large, trapezoidal mirror that gracefully narrows towards the top, bringing a beautiful geometric balance to the piece. The base offers practical storage with two central drawers and side cabinets, perfect for cosmetics, jewellery, or personal items. A striking design element is the black glass shelf located just below the mirror, providing a sophisticated contrast against the warm, golden tones of the walnut veneer. The depth of only 32 cm makes it an incredibly space-saving piece, ideal for both spacious bedrooms and compact urban apartments. Professional Restoration. This piece has undergone a comprehensive, uncompromising restoration in our specialised workshop. The old, yellowed high-gloss polish was carefully removed to reveal the beautiful natural grain of the walnut veneer. We refinished the wood with premium hard wax oil. This treatment provides a smooth, satin-matte finish that protects the wood against water and daily wear while allowing it to retain a natural, organic feel. Crucially, to ensure the piece meets modern daily needs, we replaced the old, tarnished mirror with a brand new, flawless mirror pane. The black glass shelf is also brand new.
