Round Tulip Table Marble Arabescato D.120cm Eero Saarinen for Knoll

A true icon of the pedestal collection, the elegant tulip dining table features a stunning silhouette that suggests the perfect antithesis to the multiple base usually present under tables and chairs. Florence knoll was one of the greatest design entrepreneurs of the mid-20th century. One of his most emblematic projects was this marble dining table created for knoll by designer eero saarinen, who made it his mission to confront the "ugly, confused and chaotic world" he could observe under chairs and tables, and their "capernaum of feet". A five-year study of design led him to create the revolutionary pedestal collection, first presented in 1956. Its sturdy and sculptural white-varnished aluminum base elegantly soars from the floor to support an arabescato marble top with intoxicating veins, protected by a layer of matte transparent polyester to ensure an anti-stain finish and easy to clean. The dining table and its arabescato marble top on a white base is a design icon of the mid-20th century, and still remains manufactured exclusively by knoll in order to retain saarinen's signature as a guarantee of quality. We are selling this table because we are moving. It is in excellent condition (slight claws of use only); bought new at the conran shop in 2019.
