I sell this romantic oil with handwritten signature of georges capgras (1866 – 1947), painter side and recognized. Work completely cleaned in perfect condition. No tears, no scratches with splendid autumn colors rather rare. Dimensions: frame 57x46. Artwork 40x50. A pupil of georges callot, william bouguereau, gustave moreau and émile charles dameron, georges capgras exhibited from 1899 at the salon des artistes français, at the musée du luxembourg as a painter to the armies in 1918, at the galerie allard (1920) and at the galerie georges petit (1925). He exhibited internationally, in são paulo (1897), tokyo, copenhagen etc. His works are kept at the museum of fine arts of san francisco, the army museum, the museum of fine arts of dijon and the city hall of paris. We also owe him the decoration of the royal bedroom, the ceilings and panels of the palace of abedin for king fuad I as well as the decoration of the music room of the liner gallia.
