Set of five French dining chairs from the mid-20th century. Each chair features a solid walnut frame with a warm natural finish and a seat and backrest covered in a light taupe upholstery fabric with a coarse texture. The edges are finished with small decorative nails. The chairs are upholstered using traditional methods, including a natural linen underlayer secured with tacks, cross-woven jute webbing for seat support, and padding made from mixed plant fibres and horsehair, providing resilience and comfort. These materials and techniques are typical of high-quality French furniture production from the 1950s and 1960s. The design features slightly curved legs and a slanted backrest, characteristic of mid-century modern style. Origin: France, circa 1950–1960.
