"Bohuslän" by Helge Lindahl

Original mid-century Swedish oil on canvas "Bohuslän" by Helge Lindahl - Vintage and framed. A beautiful bright oil on canvas depicting the stunning coastal town of Bohuslän, Sweden. Signed by the artist Helge Lindahl. The painting and frame are in very good vintage condition. Dimensions: 65 X 55.5 cm. Helge Eugen Lindahl was a Swedish artist born on 10 December 1898 in Kalmar, Sweden. He studied art at the Slöjdföreningens skola in Gothenburg under Hjalmar Eldh from 1921 to 1924, and then at the Académie de la Grande Chaumière in Paris in 1927. Throughout his career, Lindahl undertook short study trips, notably to Denmark in 1924, France between 1947 and 1948, and Italy. He is known for his figurative works and landscapes with harmonious colours. His works are part of the collections of institutions such as the Kalmar Art Museum and the Gothenburg City Museum. In 1930, he married Karin Dagny Fredrika Fredholm, and they had a son, Cai Lindahl-Sonesson, who became a textile artist. Helge Lindahl passed away in 1985.
